Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Mari Elka Pangestu targeting tourist arrivals could reach 8 million tourists so there will be an increase of 300 thousand people compared to the target by 2011.
Mari Elka Pangestu said that for 2011 through October had reached 6 million more, but she did not yet know the achievements until November 2011 because the numbers have not come out.
"Still on process, so I do not know how many achievements until November," she said.
"We expect to achieve the target, and if you saw 600 thousand visitors as of December then the likelihood of achieving the target, but we are optimistic that the number could reach 7.5 to 7.7 million visitors," Mari Elka Pangestu says.
According to her, looked at data up to October 2011, the four largest countries contributing to the achievement of targets tourists are Australia, Singapore, Japan and Malaysia.
"That's four largest state contribution," she continued.
Later, the Minister said the number of foreign tourists target achievement is always increasing, as in the year 2010 increased by 6.6 percent and in 2011 at 4.5 percent.
Until July 2011, the number of foreign tourists visiting Indonesia reached its highest level during the last three years and now Indonesia's tourism growth is above the world average.
Indonesia has been demonstrated as an attractive tourism destinations in the world according to Mari Elka Pangestu.
In 2011 tourist arrivals from Russia and China experienced growth above 10 percent while spending of Chinese tourists has increased.
